A.A. Peleshchak
The history of every big city, small town or
even a tiny
village is unique and inimitable in its beauty.
To speak
about your native place or hometown is the same as
to tell somebody the story of your soul and heart.
From the history of this village.
There was settlement-Kapustyntsy Lis and there
were 28 houses in it. Near-by the east of the village there was the railway,
which connected Ternopil, Zbarazh, Lanivtsy and Shepetivka. The railway was
built by the Russian Army, which occupied Galychyna in 1914 – 1917. Kapustyntsy
was founded in the XIX century. There were five streets: Krakivska, Serednia,
Lysa Gora, Slipa and Dovha. In July – September 1920 the Power Rada was placed
there. A central house of collective farm named Kalinin had been built. It was formed in 1941
and restored in 1949. There were 1, 3 thousand hectares of collective area and
1, 2 thousand hectares of arable area. After the World Wars there 10 public and
production buildings, 50 individual living houses were built. There was a
kindergarten, a tailor’s workshop there too. For today there is 9 year school,
a club, a library, a medical station, a shop.
As for
the name of this village, it was noticed that there lived a rich man named
Kapustyaniy. He had a big estate and the village was named in honour of this
landowner.
Kapustyntsy is
nowadays.
Kapustyntsy is
situated in Zbarazh district in the north of Ternopil region. This village
borders on Krasnosiltsy, Musorivtsy, Zarydechko and Roznoshyntsy. It is
approximately 7 km
from Zbarazh. The population of Kapustyntsy is about 150 inhabitants. The railway and highway connect Kapustyntsy with
Zbarazh. The territory of the village is in the western wood and steppe zone.
The farmers grow wheat, sugar beets, potatoes, cabbages, carrots, and other
vegetables. The climate is mild and favourable for growing agricultural plants.
This village is rich in many mineral resources. It has building materials as
sand, clay, stone, etc. There are many small artificial lakes. Kapustyntsy is a small and beautiful village. There
is an ostrich-farm and a pig-farm. There are horses in it too. In the center of
the village you can see a club.Behind of Kapustyntsy is a school. In front of
the village there is a beautiful church and a shop. Opposite the church there
is a
Council of the village. The houses are not
high, but they are very nice in Kapustyntsy. Near the houses you can see many
trees and flowers. There are buses and cars in the streets of the village.
There is a small pond in this village too.
Sanctuary of Kapustyntsy the Church of St. Michael .
The inhabitants of Kapustyntsy
and Kapustyntsy Lis decided to restore this building, which was an old Roman
Catholic Church and rebuilt into a small Greek Catholic Church in 1996. All
people in this village began to repair it in 2003. They brought many icons,
embroideries and others things that this Church was adorned. Thanks to all of
them this building was sanctified by a big priest Michael Sabryga and was there
were many Christians from neighbouring villages, such as Synagivka ,Zarudechko, Musorivtsy, Krasnosiltsy, Roznoshyntsy, Glybochok.
The figure of “The Lady of Lord” was built in honour of the abolition lordship in 1848 and destroyed
in 1962. Then it was restored in 1992 in honour of the
Independence of Ukraine.
“The monument to unknown soldier”. The remains of
soldiers was found and buried in Kapustyntsy (1970).
Sand – pit.
Kapustyntsy is rich in many non – metal
natural building
materials and raw – materials for their production.
Huge reserves of clay and sand are used as face works, for decorations, make
monuments,
pavement,
panel – constructions and others. The layer of quartz sand is too thick; it is
about 50 metres
deep. They say that it will sufficient for many – many years. Thanks to people,
who opened this sand – pit in 2005, Kapustyntsy is well – known not only in
Zbarazh region, but other regions of Ukraine too.
The ostrich –
farm.
This village is also an interesting tourist place for other
people of many regions. There is the ostrich – farm. It was opened in 2005.
There are rearing exotic birds – ostriches. They have about 3 metres high and 150 kilograms weight.
The ostriches are in the special places (voleyrs) and divided into families
(two females and one male). The grown – up birds eat barley, wheat, oats,
maize… They say this bird can run 70 kilometres for half an hour, and kick for
the death. The ostriches are wonderful for their beauty, and useful for their diet
meat.
My dear
friend, look around
Can you see
this beautiful ground.
You are
right, it’s your land
A little
piece of our Motherland.
There are
lots of wonders in this land
Many
interesting things happened
If you want
to know the land better,
Try to do!
What’s the matter?
The nature is fantastic beauty. One who has set his or her foot
upon this village, one who has experienced fairy – tale charms of its nature in
calmness and in riot cannot but retain those genuinely Divine impressions of
sheer miracle for life. Each paradise corner with its primordial creation
showers your soul with its beauty.
The mighty
forests give you health and strength. You
have the
sensation as if flying or floating in a boundless ocean of fantastic beauty.
All drudgery of routine is behind and beyond! When you are in this forest, all
you touch, hear or see charge you with salve balm of kindness and goodness.
Even the most gifted artists, poets and writers fail to render this bounteous
beauty of this village.
Wind tenderly rocks the wood,
Singing wondrous songs.
No mortal can ever render that,
No dream could be
dreamt about that.
I know some
English proverbs and here is one of them – “There is no place like home”.
Really, the best place is our own town or village. We never forget it when we
leave it. There are many beautiful places where people live. People who live
there are proud of them and like them very much, because they live and work
there. The beauty of nature is a very good thing. As for me, I am proud of the
history of the village, where I work and its historical traditions. As an
English proverb goes“Every bird likes its own nest”. Let’s hope that we will like
our own “nest” and will do everything to make it the most beautiful place on
earth.
English proverbs say:
- There is no place like home.
- What is good for me is my motherland.
- Every bird likes its own nest.
- East of West, home is best.
